Washing time
I went to the laundromat today. It was near closing time, and the little man who runs the shop came in to close up. "Good evening", he said to the four of us sitting there patiently with our books and magazines listening to the soothing sound of clothes being twirled in water. People went, and I was waiting for my clothes to dry. The man washed the floor and made conversation. Apparently, he is also a baker (!). When there was only a man and me left, the little guy's face broke into a smile, and he said: "I'll just run over to the kiosk for some beers for us. I get a discount over there." So he did. And we had a beer together, the three of us, while the clothes dried and the machines died out. I love small things like that.
