My old house; before and after

When I moved to Aarhus first time around to start at Journalisthøjskolen, I moved into Mejlgade 39 down by the harbour. The building was very run-down; only the second floor was suited for rental, and when in the bathroom, you could hear the pigeons that lived in the attick. The ground floor used to be a beautiful shop but was now inhabited by homeless people, and in the backyard there were more run-down buildings. Everything was covered in graffiti, sort of unsafe and we felt like we were squatting: it was great! I loved waking up to the sound of hoodies painting graffiti and having crazy discussions with the homeless people. I visited the building this weekend, and while I've been away (almost four years), it's gotten a new look. The graffiti is gone, the building looks safe, and there's a shop in the ground floor. But I sort of miss the old buildings with their scruffy charm. Have a look for yourselves:
Before...
 And after!
(Yes, it's me on the left... 20 years old)
Before...
...and after!
The front door before...
...and after!
The abandoned building in the courtyard before...
...and after. It's no longer abandoned.
The little weird house before...
 ...and after!
