Kathrine is one of my very best friends, and luckily she likes to visit me a lot when I'm in Berlin. This weekend we biked around the city, ate lots and lots of cake and drank lots and lots of coffee. We laughed, went bar-hopping, caught a movie, had sushi, went to the fleamarket, and rode the u-bahn. Come back soon, Kat!
Kat rented a bike - for €3/day! Normally, when I have had visitors and they have rented bikes, the cheapest deal I've seen has been €8, so I'm never going anywhere else than Blücherstraße from now on...
We had coffee and baked goods at Bully's Bakery before going to an apartment viewing.
At Schlesi. Crap lighting and colours, but oh well.
We spent Saturday night bar-hopping - from Schlesisches Tor to Paloma at Kottbusser Tor to Das Hotel in Mariannenstraße. Lots of Moscow Mules...
Sunday brunch at Morgenland. Quite disappointing honestly, although it's alledgedly a Berlin brunch institution...
Sunday was Mauerpark, a fleamarket I haven't been to for years because it's too touristic and crowded. And yes, it was.
We had incredible coffee and carrot cake at The Barn on Schönhauser Allee. And we both made a new canine friend.
We went to the movies and saw Sofia Coppola's 'The Bling Ring' - a fascinating movie but not quite succesful. And then we had sushi.
Monday was rainy and grey, and I forgot to take photos. We had Aussie brekkie at Melbourne Canteen (Pannierstr. 57, Neukölln), did some shopping in Mitte, had cakes at Barcomi's Deli and afternoon coffee at Five Elephant before saying goodbye. Man, what a great weekend!

Aww, looks like a lovely weekend visit :)
And thanks for the nice tip for the bike rental. What is the place called?
I'm actually going to be in Berlin next week! from the 11th to 15th, and I'm pretty excited.
It was really nice! I don't know what the rental was called, but I think it was at Blücherstr. 20... A relatively big place.
Enjoy Berlin!
