Stockholm, round two

I can't believe it's already been 10 days since I was in Stockholm - the older I get the faster the time goes, how depressing is that?! Sometimes I long for the time when a year seemed incomprehensibly long. Now, I can barely keep up. Oh well. Here are more Stockholm glimpses. What a great weekend it was;
Windows!
Iben looked very tall against this Astrid Lindgren-type house.
Sunday brunch was had at quaint Greasy Spoon (Tjärhovsgatan 19, Södermalm)
That building!
Monday morning, Iben and I went to Fotografiska museum while Chris worked.
The view from the museum was breathtaking on such a grey day (and on any day, I imagine).
We did some shopping at Götgatan - I practically went crazy, which almost never happens, but now I have lots of Stockholm souvenirs...
So long Stockholm.

Stockholm, round one

So, I went to Stockholm this weekend. Iben, Mette and I flew north to visit Chris in her new town, drink lots of coffee (and alcohol...), walk around, laugh a lot, talk and just hang out. It was marvellous. It was cold and overcast, but it didn't matter. Stockholm is such a beautiful city, and it was perfect with a little getaway. Much more of that, please!
Chris lives in the cutest street.
Stockholm is so hilly! We really got a decent workout fighting our way up and down the streets.
Right beside Chris' house is a viewpoint of the city. It is absolutely breathtaking!
Friday night was spent in a club beneath a bridge, and we were slightly hungover when we woke up well into the afternoon on Saturday. So coffee was very needed. Luckily, Chris lives practically next door to Stockholm's best coffee shop, Drop Coffee (Wollmar Yxkullsgatan 10, Södermalm).
Their breakfast was pretty good - despite the egg being freezing cold and served with the Swedes' favourite weird stuff; fishpaste......
Frabrique makes excellent cardamomrolls, my new addiction.
We walked around Gamla Stan and took in the beautiful buildings.
The lovely Chris and an ornamented door.
We had coffee and cinnamon rolls in an old tram while our hungover state made us particularly giddy and loud. I think we must have upset some of the other guests with our rowdy talk.
Oh, how wonderful that view is. Especially with these lovely ladies.

On the move

We're getting to that time of year where seasons click and the weather can't seem to figure out if it wants to be warm or cold. Today, there's a distinct chill in the air and the sky is crisp and colourful. Yesterday, it rained, but was lukewarm. I'm running around doing lots of things, enjoying having lots of things to do, but also really enjoying those small windows of relaxing. I guess I can say, welcome to adult life.
Sunday afternoon, I attended a free tour of the new developing area of Copenhagen, Nordhavn (North Harbour). I met up with Tine, Luna and Jeppe and walked around for a good two hours looking at a construction site and imagining that new part of the city. It's strange to think it will be done when I'm in my 40s or 50s....
Our guide, Jørn, was amazing, full of warmth and funny comments.
These two old silos have been converted into office space as one of the first projects in Nordhavn. I must admit that despite everybody loving it, I'm not quite convinced. Maybe it's because I have an ingrown despise for new stuff...
The area's existing buildings are much nicer.
So, imagine this as a futuristic heaven?
On Monday, I went for lunch in Torvehallerne, and I love this grey building on Israels Plads (another part of town that's one big construction site...)
After work, I met up with Ilenia for a coffee. She was in town for a few days from Berlin and it was so great meeting her in person - we've been Instagram friends for a while. I had a little whiff from Berlin and we shared a nomad soul that was kind of nice. Good to hear I'm not the only one constantly on the move.
On Wednesday, I returned to Torvehallerne for lunch. It took me so much effort to walk by Coffee Collective without buying something (I had already had too much coffee...)
