New York VI: High Line

The High Line is an old line of elevated train tracks on Manhattan that was turned into a park a few years ago. Hailed and hyped all over the world for its innovation, my expectations were high; and I wasn't disappointed. In fact, I wished we could have gone up there on a day with milder weather. It was insanely cold and windy, but I imagine how wonderful it must be up there on a crisp spring day. You have a marvellous view of the city, and the highline is a perfect blend of rough train tracks and nature, recreation and creativity.
