The last few weeks have been busy. I'm working 12 hour days and barely have time to see people. It's so much fun and I love my assignments for the newspaper. Things are falling into place. And I do see people...
Last Friday was pay day and I was in need of so many things. So I spent the morning in the city and managed to get everything in one hour. And more stuff... My card was practically sizzling afterwards.
I had lunch with Chris in Torvehallerne. I love the sliders from Smagen af Fyn. Chris always gets something from Banh Mi...
The city was beautiful beneath the grey sky.
The next night I went to a party. It was in a killer apartment overlooking downtown Copenhagen. I had made a new dress and bought impossible earrings (I wore them until 4am!) and I think I thought I looked good since I deserved a selfie.
I spent the night in Vesterbro and was pretty hungover the next day. I managed to drag myself down to meet Chris for a midday movie in the cinema. I had breakfast in the plush seats and felt pretty good despite the hangover...
On Tuesday, I went on assignment for the newspaper. I met some very nice people and had my post-interview high. Also, they had a pretty view over Nordvest.
Wednesday night, I went to Louisiana with AE, Sølve and Fredericke. We got lost in Kusama's world of dots and it was great hanging out. My mother texted us how happy she is that we want to spend time together as siblings and we laughed a lot about that. Because who doesn't want to hang out with your siblings?
The next day I was busy with a deadline and got up before the others. Later, Sølve made pancakes for us as a second breakfast. Quite what I needed just then.
After my deadline I went into the city to do an interview. Across from the house these red things climbed up the building.
I spent some time in Elsinore doing more shopping and cooing over those beautiful narrow old streets.
And yesterday I had lunch with AnCa and coffee with Chris. It was warm enough to sit outside and watch people stroll by.

Missing the blue sky
The mornings are so grey these days. When it's noon I think it's still early morning because the light hasn't really broken. It makes me miss the Indian summer we had a few weeks ago where I went down to the beach in the magic hour and felt something huge. Now it's just grey, and it will be for the next many months...
I love the colourful canoes lying in the high grass.

Dyrehaven
One of the last days of September, I met Kathrine for a walk. It was such a beautiful weather; the rays warm and sharp, and everything just wonderful. We went for a walk in Dyrehaven just north of Copenhagen. I love that place; to me it's all the best of that area - wild nature with big flocks of deer running around, and the sea is deep blue in the distance. The male deer were in heat and made deep roars that echoed across the plains. It was slightly terrifying but also fascinating. We got a little lost, but had a great time.
You can get pretty close to the deer, and to someone who is most comfortable on concrete, that is quite overwhelming.
One of the old inns in the gardens.
My date du jour.
Erimitage castle is located right in the centre of the park. It's situated on the top of a hill and overlooks the grounds, the forrest and the sea below. I would move in tomorrow.
When the roaring deer became too much, we went down to the coast road and looked at the big mansions there - these wooden houses looked quite Swedish and out of character for the area, but beautiful in the dim light.

All over the place
Oh, and then we were almost half way into October. I'm working like a mad woman these days, sometimes from morning to past midnight. But it's fun and I'm lucky to be so busy. I spent a few days in Copenhagen crashing in my old apartment, and being back was great. Also to hang out with Kathrine, playing the hausfrau with food on the table when she came home from work. I had coffee with good people, including my happy brother who was a true bundle of good energy. Now I'm back in the north, working, but today I took a half day off with a book, some episodes of 'Friends' with my brother, and a bucketload of coffee. Oh, and it's stormy, grey and truly autumnal outside...
Met up with AnCa on Saturday for some lunch at Bang & Jensen. It had been forever since we last saw each other because she's been in the US. Of course, there was a lot of laughing in the autumn sun...
Later, I went for a walk with Chris. We had coffee at Coffee Collective and watched the sun go down behind the beautiful buildings in Jægersborggade.
Afterwards, we went over to Mette's for a night of pizza, cocktails and lots of old school hip hop.
The entire year I lived at Kathrine's in the ghetto, I longed for a coffee shop around the corner. What happened the second I moved out? A coffee shop opened.... Whenever I needed a break from writing these last couple of days I went by for a coffee. It's so cheap (25 kr for a double shot latte!), the vibe is cool and local, and the boys behind the counter were cute. A blurry shot, but you get the idea.
I love the old school bedding I slept in.
On Monday I met Michelle for a coffee in Vesterbro. It was good seeing her, and I wish she lived closer, she's always great fun to hang out with.
I wrote an article in the latest Brygg Magazine. So if you're able to read Danish (and Norwegian), you should go pick it up. It's such a beautiful magazine full of good stories and stylish layout.
And this pretty much sums up my day. Apart from a few hours of working, I'm spending the day in bed with coffee and John Steinbeck. Have a good one out there!

A bit from Jutland and some from Saturday
Last week, I spent a few days in Jutland at my mom's. Two seconds with her and I start knitting - which was actually great fun and super relaxing. Some days later, I roamed the streets of Copenhagen with 2/3 of the brothers. We were on a shopping mission for NP who was in dire need of T-shirts that fit his broad shoulders. I sent him back to Jutland the next day with 6 T-shirts and a jacket - mission accomplished. We also had time for catching 'Straight Outta Compton' in the cinema. I had very high expectations for the movie but was a little disappointed. The story was good, but it should've been told differently I feel. But watching it with a lot of males in their early 20s who were clearly fans was fun.
First I spent the weekend at my grandparents' in northern Jutland. It's always a pleasure and I love those two so much. They're full of fun and good stories, and it's something very special when I'm there.
My mom and I went out for brunch in her town. We were really disappointed until they started loading ham and cake on the buffet - that was after this photo. There wasn't time to take another as we indulged. But we had a good time there just the two of us.
On Saturday, before we hit the cinema, I took the brothers up in Rundetårn. I love the view from up there and it was a beautiful sunny day.
Copenhagen is extra pretty these days because we're having the most wonderful weather. Please stick around!

AMY
When I was in Berlin a month ago, AnCa and I went to the movies Sunday night to watch 'Amy'. I remember I heard the news of Amy Winehouse's death when I was driving home from Berlin with my family on the day I moved back to Denmark. I never really listened to her music, and to me she was just a sort of sad character with a very public deroute. But that night in Berlin as we watched the documentary about her, my opinion changed completely. I was so utterly moved by the film, I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I listen to her music and her incredibly raw lyrics and I am overwhelmed by sadness for her fate. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you to do it; not only is it well-told, it's also a warm, raw and very unshakable glimpse of a life that was all too short.

Now
The wind is playing, the light is sharpening and the leaves have faded just a little more each time I take the train. Here we are again, it's a new season and that always means an excess of thoughts. I want to write, and I contemplate the year that is sliding into its final months. It was a short summer. There were some very good moments, and I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of it, but mostly it just got a little lost in long days at work, moving and being back in the situation where everything is open. Autumn is a bittersweet season.

Currently
Yesterday, I spent the morning at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, roaming around with fellow instagrammers (more about that later). I rushed home to finish a piece, and my editor said I was her favourite freelancer. I went to the movies with a friend and giggled in the red velvet seats. The evening was spent having dinner with some great people from work.
It was one of those days where I was so busy that I kept an adrenaline high all day, and then it feels like my skin is pushing in, like I'm going to float away. All my thoughts are stronger and clearer and sometimes even unbearable. I felt so incredibly happy and so lost at the same time; I am just anxious to get back to the city soon, to have a life where I feel like I'm in control and not being controlled by outside things. Today looks different; I got a good night's sleep and although I'm still busy, I feel like I have the upper hand. Maybe it's the seasons changing?
