Sunday meant gloomy weather, but we went out sailing anyway. Stockholm is situated in a cluster of islands called Skärgården, and after just 10 minutes on a boat means being in beautiful nature with tiny islands inhabited by those neat wooden houses. It both snowed, rained and shined during our trip to the island of Vaxholm, but it was a pretty great day nonetheless.
We had breakfast at Fabrique in Fridhelmsplan, a pretty good chain of bakeries. Again, we were powerless to the cardamom buns...
How idyllic can it be?!
I felt like walking directly into Astrid Lindgren's universe.
We quickly found our way down to the sweet Hembygdsgården where we had salmon treats outside to the sound of water licking the side of the house, and kids running around in the garden.
Afterwards, it was the big Swedish cake table (notice that huge layer cake!)
On the way back to Stockholm, the sun was with us most of the time, which made a huge difference. What a great trip!
